WoW Gala Lisboa: bridging Web2 and Web3 with ‘Feathers, Fizz & Freedom’

This June, the historic grandeur of Lisbon’s Palacio do Grilo will provide a stunning backdrop for “WoW Gala Lisboa: Feathers, Fizz & Freedom,” an immersive event presented by the pioneering Web3 community, World of Women (WoW).

Set for June 5th during the NFC Lisbon conference, the gala promises a unique fusion of cutting-edge technology, artistic expression, and vibrant celebration.

Following acclaimed events in Paris and Miami, WoW’s signature Gala arrives in Lisbon, channeling the effervescent energy of a reimagined roaring twenties.

The chosen venue, an 18th-century palace famed for its rebellious past and patronage of the arts, sets the stage for an evening designed to transport attendees.

Guests are invited to explore the palace’s ornate chambers and grand corridors, where avant-garde digital art installations will converse with centuries-old baroque splendor.

“WoW Gala Lisboa isn’t just another crypto gathering—it’s a complete experience that unfolds as you move through the palace’s ornate chambers,” explained Taisia Antonova, CEO of World of Women.

The evening aims to be a multi-sensory journey, moving beyond a typical networking event into a curated world of wonder and connection.

Sonic landscapes and artistic encounters

The event’s soundscape promises to be as dynamic as its visuals.

Headlining the musical journey is the Brazilian sensation Venga Venga, known for DJ sets that transcend music, incorporating performance art, poetry, and visuals to foster moments of “collective euphoria.”

Joining them is acclaimed DJ P.H.I.L.O.U, a regular on prestigious electronic music stages like Tomorrowland Winter and Extrema, known for sets alongside legends like Paul Kalkbrenner.

Local artist Anya, WoW holder and artist NOANNE, and the sophisticated ambiance of a live jazz band will further enrich the auditory experience, with more artists, including a main headliner, yet to be announced.

Purpose beyond the party: addressing the Web3 gender gap

While offering an evening of unparalleled style and entertainment, the WoW Gala Lisboa carries a significant underlying purpose.

“We’re reimagining what creative freedom meant in the 1920s for today’s digital pioneers, creating a space where women can forge new connections and pathways in Web3,” stated Jordan Zucchiatti, WoW Artistic Director.

This mission resonates sharply against recent data highlighting challenges for women in the crypto and tech space. Gemini’s 2024 State of Crypto report revealed a decline in female crypto ownership from 42% in 2022 to just 31% today.

Furthermore, research indicates companies founded solely by women still receive only a meager 2% of venture capital funding, despite women launching new businesses at twice the rate of men between 2019 and 2023.

In direct response to these statistics and as part of a broader strategy, WoW Gala Lisboa marks a pivotal shift: for the first time, tickets are available not just to WoW NFT holders, but to the general public.

This follows a year where WoW strategically broadened its social media focus to encompass wider women’s issues, aiming to attract Web2 audiences.

The gala now serves as a tangible bridge, inviting these new followers to directly experience the culture and community of Web3.

Building on a legacy, looking to the future

The Lisbon event builds on the success of previous WoW Galas, which became sought-after tickets, drawing influential names like entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk, sports analyst Ros Gold-Onwude, investor Eunice Wong, and The Sandbox co-founder Sebastien Borget.

It is anticipated to be a highlight of NFC Lisbon’s social calendar.

The gala also coincides with WoW’s ongoing evolution. In June 2024, the organization announced a strategic migration to the Tezos ecosystem, specifically building on Etherlink, an EVM-compatible Layer 2 solution.

This move underscores WoW’s commitment to creating sustainable pathways for women in Web3, complementing initiatives like recent artist support programs and the deployment of over $3 million to nonprofits.

For those seeking an evening where history, art, technology, and a mission for greater inclusion converge, further details and tickets are available via the dedicated WoW Gala website.
